How does Torah and the Bible ( Tanach) deal with mortality and the process of aging?

Is Aging meant to be primarily a negative process?

Is it meant to simply be a function of Mortality.Mortality being a process begun after the Sin of Adam and Eve

King David declares

"Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent"( Psalm 71:9)

Is King David pointing to the classical existential threat of becoming obsolete? How do we defines our self worth? Is it measured by achievement and strength. Does Aging define the waning of that power and purpose

Or perhaps the Bible provides a whole new perspective on purpose , achievement and mortality
