THE “SHMA PRAYER” TREE OF LIFE

The” Shma prayer” at times is the ultimate tree of life

The SHMA is the prayer found in Deuteronomy "Hear o Israel the L.rd our G.d the L.rd is one" (Deuteronomy 6:4)

The sterling silver letters of that verse are carved and shaped in a mosaic fashion so as to depict and represent the tree of life, Some of the letters are bent to display the leaves while some are elongated to create the tree trunk and branches

The Shema prayer: " Hear O Israel Hashem is our G-d , Hashem is ONE" ( Deuteronomy 6:4) is the declaration of faith,hope and prayer.

It is a pledge of allegiance to the One God who in that Oneness encompasses all.

We declare the Shma upon awakening.. and go to sleep with the same prayer on our lips

We declare it to praise Hashem and at times to plead with Him.

It is the first prayer we teach our children.

It is also the last prayer spoken as we enter into the next phase of existence

The Tree of Life represents Divine Wisdom as we read in the book of proverbs

(Biblical Wisdom) is a tree of life to those who take hold of her;( proverbs 3:18)
