If one takes a cursory and objective glance at the recent history of the people of Israel and the rebirth of a Jewish commonwealth in the land of Israel, one cannot escape the resemblance to a classical Biblical text. An oppressed, dispersed and maligned people ingathered to their ancient homeland.
The Sigh
We look around us and we see the growing hatred of the world. In the East we see another Haman gathering weapons of destruction. In the west we see leaders anbandoning alliances and friendships. We hear the world media adopting the lies of the masters of terror. We see the world in general becoming enveloped with a cloud of confusion and ignorance.
It makes one want to sigh.
The Tears of Faith Necklace
King David is giving a powerful picture of faith and trust. Though life may bring about tears and though our ouney may involve countless wanderings, G-d takes note of them all. He gathers them and is faithful to heal, reward and refill with joy the cracked vessels.
Simple Truths
Why are the nations in an uproar? And why do the peoples mutter in vain? The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together, against HaShem , and against His anointed:(Psalm 2:1-2)
When the hordes gather around Israel to attack with words and deeds, the only trustworthy weapon is simple truth. It is true that untainted facts can not always pierce the darkness that has seemed to envelop the world by truth needs to be stated and affirmed. Those that have been lying in waiting to pounce on the nation of Israel waited patiently until the flotilla of “Peace” achieved its purpose. That purpose was to of evoke a powerful defensive response that could then be turned around as a weapon and a narrative of hate.
The Divine Melody
Nothing in this world happens by happenstance or coincidence. The lines of human history intersect the lines of destiny and purpose all the time. This occurs regardless if those witnessing these encounters between” time and purpose” are aware of it or not. Such is the nature of our existence.
The world we live in is called Olam in hebrew, and that very word is a whisper of its root denoting hiddenness.Yet everything can change in a flash of Divine intervention. “You turned my mourning into dancing for me; You loosened my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness” (Tehillim 30:12).
